What to Do When Life Shows Up: Staying Steady When Everything Shifts

Hey friends, it’s Amy. Today’s episode is a real one, because it’s about what to do when life shows up. You know what I mean — when your day doesn’t go according to plan, when a curve ball hits, when everything feels out of rhythm, and you’re trying to hold it together while still doing what you’re called to do. I’m recording this after a whirlwind emergency trip to Florida. We spent an insane amount of time in the car, got my parents back to Iowa, and it really made me think: how do you stay steady when life feels out of control? Here’s one of the biggest tools I’ve used: disciplines. When life is chaotic, routine becomes an anchor. And I saw it in real time — the day I kept my morning routine, I could handle an 16–18 hour travel day with way more ease. The day I didn’t? I felt myself spiraling. But then I go deeper — what do you do when you are doing the right things… and you’re still not seeing results? You’re eating healthy, but the numbers don’t change. You’re working hard, but the business isn’t growing. You’re trying in your marriage, but it still feels stuck. You’re creating, but nobody is clapping. That’s where the real work happens. Because the goal isn’t just the outcome — it’s who you’re becoming in the process. Mental toughness. Spiritual strength. Endurance. Work ethic. Stability. A muscle that can flex without a cheering squad. This episode is a reminder that resistance is often a signpost — not to stop — but to keep going. And if you’re tempted to quit, I want you to hear me: the golden life is built in the “show up anyway” seasons. Keep doing the thing. Your future self will thank you. 🔑 Key Takeaways Routine stabilizes you when life feels chaotic.Discipline matters most when motivation disappears. If you’re not seeing results yet, ask: Who am I becoming?Resistance can be a sign you’re on the right track.Do what others won’t do if you want results others don’t have.Serving others pulls you out of self-focus and back into purpose. You’re never “too young” or “too old” to fulfill your assignment.“Overnight success” is usually years of unseen discipline. Don’t Burn Your Life Down — Expand It! A Leader Only Conversation with Dr. Celina Peerman

You’re Not a Tree. You’re Allowed to Grow. | A Conversation with Dr. Celina Peerman Okay friends… this one is so rich. I got to sit down with Dr. Celina Peerman — organizational psychologist, leadership strategist, entrepreneur, wife of 30+ years, mom of two daughters — and truly one of the most thoughtful leaders in our Cedar Valley. And here’s what we talked about: What happens when you’re successful on paper… …but your soul is nudging you for more? Not “burn your life down” more. But expand your lane more. Dr. Celina shares how after 15 years in HR and leadership, she began taking vacation days… not to rest… but to build something quietly on the side. And eventually, she had to name the reality: Something in her was calling for impact at a different level. We talk about: • Making the leap into entrepreneurship (and how scary that actually is) • Leading with doubt — and normalizing it • Clear expectations vs. organizational chaos • Confidence in leadership • Evolving over seasons of life • Grief, identity, and finding your authentic voice • What to do when something keeps nudging you • Why we desperately need “think time” in a noisy world • And why you’re not a tree — you’re allowed to move We dig into her new creative expansion, Beautifully Over It, and how stepping into authenticity has changed not only her personal life — but her effectiveness as a leader. This conversation is for the high-achievers. The leaders. The entrepreneurs. The ones who know there’s more in them… But aren’t sure how to step into it without losing what they’ve built. You don’t have to burn your life down. But you are allowed to grow. Your WHY Will Carry You Through Anything!

Hey guys, Today’s episode is one that I didn’t even fully plan — it was born out of a walk around a track, watching people, thinking about life, thinking about attitude, thinking about purpose. And I want to ask you something right out of the gate: Who’s waiting for you on the other side of your obedience? Because here’s what I know — one of the biggest predictors of life expectancy isn’t diet. It’s not exercise. It’s not even genetics. It’s purpose. It’s having a why. It’s having something that pulls you out of bed in the morning because someone needs you to show up. In this episode, I share the powerful story of Viktor Frankl — a Holocaust survivor who lost everything. His manuscript. His freedom. His family. His name. And yet, he discovered something that can’t be taken from any human being: The freedom to choose your attitude in any given circumstance. You can’t control what happens to you. But you can always control how you respond. And I contrast that with real-life moments I’ve witnessed — people who’ve walked through immense pain yet carry light… and others who seemingly “have it all” but live in constant complaint. The difference? Attitude. Purpose. Gratitude. We talk about: Why complaining is a public declaration of defeatHow gratitude literally rewires your perspectiveThe danger of “give-up-itis”Why storms are seasonal, not permanentHow your purpose acts as drag power to pull you forwardAnd how an unexamined life leads to frustration And I’ll tell you this… If you’re walking through hell right now —  this episode is for you. Because storms always end. But bitterness can last a lifetime if you let it. You are needed. Your perspective matters. And someone is waiting on the other side of your obedience. Tie your kite string to your why — and let it pull you forward. Why You’re SO Tired: Checking Your Alignment Score

Have you ever felt completely worn out, uninspired, or exhausted… but you couldn’t quite explain why? In this episode, I want to talk about something I believe is at the root of so much burnout: misalignment. It’s not always that you’re doing too much — sometimes it’s that you’re doing too much of what doesn’t actually align with who you are. Alignment isn’t just a trendy word. Alignment is when your values match your calendar, your beliefs match your decisions, and your faith matches your actions. When those things line up, there may still be hard work, but there’s also joy, peace, and internal fulfillment. When they don’t, exhaustion shows up fast. I share how I’ve personally had to recalibrate throughout my career — stepping off boards, saying no to good things that didn’t feed my soul, and learning that all change initially feels like loss. But staying misaligned costs far more: your energy, your peace, your momentum, and eventually your health. One of the biggest indicators of alignment isn’t excitement — it’s peace. You can be walking through something challenging and still know you’re in the right lane. Misalignment, on the other hand, shows up as irritation, restlessness, and feeling off without knowing why. In this episode, I challenge you to do an alignment check: Is your calendar aligned with what truly matters to you?Are you spending time with people who reflect your values? Are you honoring who you are becoming — not just who you used to be?Alignment doesn’t require burning your life down. It’s built through small, intentional steps. Saying no. Making adjustments. Choosing discipline. Getting quiet enough to ask where your soul feels the most alive. There’s never been a more important time to tune out the noise and live authentically. When you live aligned, the right people find you, your peace returns, and your purpose becomes clearer. Because the truth is this: There is nothing more fulfilling than living in alignment with who you were created to be. When the Peace Feels Costly: What to Do When God Says “Let Go”

Have you ever felt like God asked you to give up something that felt good… even godly? In this vulnerable and heartfelt episode, Amy shares a deeply personal story about wrestling with obedience, identity, and the unexpected cost of peace. From navigating a hard decision with a faith-filled yes, to processing the emotions that come with letting go of something you love, Amy invites you into a conversation we don’t often hear: What if your next season with God requires a step of surrender before a step of clarity? She reflects on how obedience is rarely convenient, but always worth it. This is an episode for anyone who's been afraid to let go, scared of silence, or wondering what comes after the no. You’ll walk away with renewed courage to trust God even when the path feels uncertain—and a reminder that when God asks you to lay something down, it's only because He’s already made a way forward. Don’t Quit Now: What Resistance Is Really Trying to Tell You

Have you ever hit a wall so hard it made you question everything? That was me just a few days ago. I had spent hours—days, really—pouring into a Faith Forward workbook for our upcoming Thrive event. It was beautiful, meaningful… and then, in an instant, gone. The file corrupted. Everything I had worked on was lost. I’ll be honest—my first response wasn’t holy. I cried. I gave myself a pity party. I even tried to talk myself out of doing the manual at all. But deep down, I knew better. In this episode, I’m sharing the full behind-the-scenes of what that moment taught me. I’ll walk you through the resistance I faced, the emotions I had to fight through, and the power of pressing on—when everything in me wanted to quit. I’m here to remind you: resistance is not a stop sign—it’s often a signpost that you’re on the right track. Whether it’s your business, your marriage, your calling, or your next big leap… if the resistance is strong, so is the impact waiting on the other side. I pray this episode gives you the fuel you need to keep going. To rebuild. To trust. And to know this: if you don’t quit, you’ll stand in awe of what God does through your perseverance.
