You Must Remember This is a storytelling podcast exploring the secret and/or forgotten histories of Hollywood’s first century. It’s the brainchild and passion project of Karina Longworth (founder of Cinematical.com, former film critic for LA Weekly), who writes, narrates, records and edits each episode. It is a heavily-researched work of creative nonfiction: navigating through conflicting reports, mythology, and institutionalized spin, Karina tries to sort out what really happened behind the films, stars and scandals of the 20th century.

You Must Remember This

I love this podcast. I’ve only recently discovered it and am continually and increasingly impressed with Karin Longworth. Her story telling style is entertaining and her depth of knowledge and research always apparent. I so appreciate that she strives to “set the record straight”. I highly recommend this podcast.

Endlessly fascinating!

One of my favorite podcasts. I want a Vincent Price or Al Pacino episode with Bill Hader!

Hands down the BEST Film/Hollywood Podcast. Keep going!

You’re podcast is BY FAR the best researched, articulated and entertaining out of not only podcasts, but many mediums in general.

For instance, having recently seen the new Tarantino film, “Once Upon A Time in Hollywood,” I could not help but consistently recall the episodes surrounding the Manson/Tate “situation,” which you covered in such impressive detail that it made the Film so much more enjoyable!

In short, this podcast supplements my knowledge of film history, Hollywood history, and sincerely makes Films that much more enjoyable from having extra context. Thank you for all your work, and I very much hope you continue making episodes.

(One suggestion: I would love if you made episodes about relatively recent film/Hollywood history... However I can imagine the it becomes harder to do as the timeline slides ever forward to the present).
