You Must Remember This is a storytelling podcast exploring the secret and/or forgotten histories of Hollywood’s first century. It’s the brainchild and passion project of Karina Longworth (founder of Cinematical.com, former film critic for LA Weekly), who writes, narrates, records and edits each episode. It is a heavily-researched work of creative nonfiction: navigating through conflicting reports, mythology, and institutionalized spin, Karina tries to sort out what really happened behind the films, stars and scandals of the 20th century.

Captivating podcast.

I started listening to this podcast after the Once Upon a Time movie came out because the podcast series on the Manson Murders delves deeply into the chain of events leading to that fateful night. It was so detailed, informative, well researched and told in such a captivating way that I downloaded all of the podcasts starting from the beginning. I was born in the 50’s and grew up watching the older movies from the 30’s and 40’s because my parents loved them and there was a weekly PBS show Fanfare that featured them We would watch as a family. We also were a movie going family and continue to be so these episodes have even more meaning as I learn all the wonderful details Karina provides. I love her captivating presentation style as well as her storytelling abilities. PS. Prefer Katrina’s Voice and narrating style to any guest.

Every season more brilliant than last

Love every season but Song of the South analysis and research is absolutely genius.

I teach college level geography and sociology and this is a perfect season for social science education. Kudos!!!
