Pro Tip: start with an episode on a band you don’t like! Everyone’s favorite band sucks. That’s a science fact. But it’s a whole lot more comfortable on the Sun’s side of the magnifying glass than the ant’s side. So don’t press play on the episodes about your actual favorite bands, like Sublime, until you’ve laughed along to Mark's and Tyler's dismantling rantings on the entire careers of a few bands everyone should agree are among the very worst things to ever happen to music, like The Beatles.

Like it. As others have said, you have to know where all this comes from. Days upon days on your buses are spent having these exact same conversations. These guys are well versed, do some reasonable research ahead of time, and I think they’re hilarious. It’s not meant to be purely malicious. It’s entertainment. I am entertained. Rock on bros.

Good idea, poorly executed

I can get on board with the idea that some of the music I hold dear isn’t all that great. But the hosts seem to take a little too much pleasure in their “brilliant takedowns” (the quotes indicate sarcasm), and it all just left me feeling gross and a little sad for them. Add to that the whole “I’m funny because I’m yelling” thing, and you’ve got a show that falls far short of its potential.

Bro, how nihilistic are we, yo?

It’s as if a garbage truck full of out of tune zithers were being played by Guy Fieri while he waxed his Trans Am. So bad, it actually inspired me to write my first podcast review. This podcast is so terrible, I feel it’s my duty to wave people off from even trying it.
