v helpful

I was praying last year about my struggles with SSA and wondering how I could move forward and “work on” it and surrender it to God. All I could think of was telling friends I had SSA. Going beyond that I literally had no idea. But I’ve been listening to this show for a while, and it’s been v helpful. I have quite a bit to chew on now and this has helped me process my own struggles while simultaneously affirming that I’m NOT alone
God bless y’all

Wow

I have struggled with SSA since I was in elementary school. And now being a freshman in college at a Christian school I really felt like an outcast l. Recently someone introduced me to YOB. And I have listened to 4 of them the past day and a half. It is really great to hear sides about these struggles and how much I can relate to them and having somewhere to get encouragement since I feel as though there aren’t people here for me to talk to.

Hopeful

Hey-o, longtime listener here. I first discovered y’all while searching on the inter webs during halftime at a Texans playoff game...probably a couple months after the podcast started. This search was one of many throughout my years as a Christian who struggles with labels...or SSA or whatever the right word is now. Thankfully, the blog and podcast were not a mirage but a real-life oasis, giving me a window into a world of actual people like me (at least with this stuff).

I decided to review after the “Letting Go” episode not because the others weren’t good but because it’s the episode that answered one of my deep concerns with the YOB-erprise. I am thankful that there is a conscious shift toward the Rock of Ages Himself, who has carried me and fulfilled the promises for community in His Word to me time and again, especially through years of those promises sounding like despicable lies in light of what I was experiencing. A podcast centered on Him and His Jesus work in your lives is worth way more than 5 stars, no matter how many small beefs I might have with certain things.

Take my 5 stars. No promises soon, but y’all have been on my list for monthly support for a while. I hope to contribute once I figure out budgeting on a missionary salary.

P.S. - Y’all have the best sponsors of any podcast I listen to. Legendary.
