We're a storytelling tribe navigating issues of faith, homosexuality, and masculinity. Together. A place for content and a place for community. Our journey started many years ago on another blogging network and continues here today with a blog, podcast, and YouTube channel, along with a thriving Patreon community. Attracted to the same sex, we follow Jesus with the conviction of living under a traditional sexual ethic. We never chose our sexuality or our story, but we believe we’ve been chosen for one another in this story. So pull up a chair, or grab a walking stick or maybe a pen, and come journey with us!

    YC081: Pride Month

    YC081: Pride Month

June is widely recognized as LGBT+ Pride Month. How do we as Jesus-followers engage with Pride Month – or is it even ours to engage with? How do we participate or spectate this month as gay/SSA believers with a traditional sexual ethic? Is there a place for us at this table and a space for us to be proud?

Join Tom, Ryan, and Aaron for a discussion on Pride Month. Have we ever been to Pride, or would we ever go to Pride? And what would be our motivations for doing so?

CC030: Tom & Matt Process Grief

Tom welcomes back longtime YOB blogger, podcaster, and resident "sexpert" Matt for a deep dive into death, grief, and how these difficult seasons either shape us or harden us. They also give some love to fellow YOB brother Dean, the bizarre adult playground-museum that is Meow Wolf, and Tom's (almost 40-year-old) virginity.

    YC080:"Side B" Objections

"Don't call yourself gay"; "don't have gay friends"; "pray harder for God to change you"; "act more manly"; "keep dating women until you find the right one." As sexual minorities, we often face objections from within our own faith, from fellow believers -- be they peers, parents, or pastors. How do we respond when we face objections for our sexuality? How do we move forward through the resistance?

Join Tom and YOBcast newcomers Pastor Ben and Pastor Will as we dive into some common "Side B" objections. And as we reaffirm to one another and to you that you are not alone in whatever spiritual objections you face.

    YC079: Love Languages & Sexuality

How does our sexuality impact the way we give and receive love from others, particularly other men? Why do quality time and physical touch rank high in our community? And where is the line between expressing the love we need and manipulating others with our love language of choice?

Join Tom, Ryan, and Aaron as we examine the five languages like never before through the lens of our sexuality: acts of service, gifts, words of affirmation, quality time, and physical touch.

CC029: Tom & Keegan Encourage the Lurkers!

YOB's resident community welcomer, Keegan, joins Tom to talk about being a #LurkerNoLonger. He recounts the backstory of a voicemail he left for the YOBcast several episodes ago, and Tom’s heart soars over stories of brotherhood and beach bonfires from his former home in southern California. And the guys can't get away from this episode without talking about Keegan's now iconic welcome GIF for new community members – especially after it slaughtered Ryan's hair in March's "YOB Madness" bracket.

CC028: Tom & Eugene Go to Cuddle Corner!

Tom welcomes back YOB’s resident artist and cuddling aficionado, Eugene, for a discussion on physical boundaries between friends. They reference both Tom’s latest blog on crossing boundaries and Eugene’s latest blog on the nature vs. nurture debate! Additionally, Tom reveals some behind the scenes magic for rectifying the technical snafu that happened during last year’s ConvoCast recording with Eugene. And the guys bounce around a new name for what to call a fan of YOB who isn’t quite a YOBBER (yet)!

Finally Knowing I'm Not Alone

After 7 months of discovering and catching up on all of the available podcasts I can finally write my review! I am forever grateful for this podcast, YOB, and Tom. Before discovering YOB I had never met any other Christian man who is SSA and pursues God's design for marriage. I felt so alone and frustrated, thinking I am some anomaly. But after I found YOB I have heard countless stories and voices similar to my own. I have never been so encouraged that I am not on this alien journey and that God does indeed have a plan for me and my story.

This podcast is both fun, challenging and inspiring. I absolutely love Tom's energy and hope to find a friend like him in my life. Tom, I think you're hilarious! The most impactful episode for me has been "Attraction". A part in that episode was shared that is a similar thought I have had myself but always been ashamed to voice outloud. Hearing someone else say it made me feel free from the shame and hopeful that I can be free from those thoughts as well.

I look forward to all that YOB continues to push out (still in 2017 as I catch up on blogs) for more inspiration to grow in my own journey.

The Community that I have Always Longed For.

For most of my life, I have struggled alone with my sexuality, having been raised in an environment that believed this subject was taboo and shameful. It wouldn't be until my college years and beyond that God would reveal more about how my sexuality and my faith can be reconciled. Despite that blessing, I still felt alone in the church, having never met others who struggled as I did.  Last year, a dear friend introduced me to Your Other Brothers during a dark time in my life. Since then, I have read countless stories from YoB, and I don't feel alone anymore. I now know that I have a whole community of brothers who share the same struggles and have similar stories as I do. Thank you for providing this incredible community of brothers, especially for those of us who have always felt like we were alone. YoB is truly a blessing in my life and the community that I have always longed for. God bless ya'll as you continue to share your stories and your vulnerability with the world.

Fraternity

I’m thankful I am able to listen in and feel like a part of a community that is vulnerable and talks about things that are important to my life. The show is fun, thought provoking and hope-driven.
