Inspirational interviews with women who share their real and raw stories about how they have made life-changing choices once they listened to The Call from within.

There's tears and laughter as our Everyday SHEro's share tales of hope and disaster. They share the reality of trying to do it all, of following the American Dream, of self doubt and burn out, and what it's like to crave more from life.

We hear stories of transforming through nervous breakdowns, post post-partum (natal) depression, cancer, turning backs on successful corporate careers and so much more. They share how these life events have been used to rekindle dreams and create a life on purpose.

Although The Everyday SHEro's are not at the end of their journeys, they still have more that they want to do and experience, they have generously and heart-feltly shared what they have learnt so far, so you too can be inspired on your journey - wherever that may take you.

There is something magic when women share stories and you are invited to join us.

Welcome!

043 - The Aquarius New Moon: Collaboration and Quirks

Welcome to the all-new Your SHEro’s Journey Podcast!
Over the past 12 months we’ve been inspired by over 40 SHEo’s who have shared their amazing stories with us, but now it’s time to go deeper.
My intention for the show is that you’ll learn how to connect more deeply with the rhythms of life, so that you can reclaim your power and your rightful place in the world as the wild, mysterious, and deeply connected women that you are.
Today on the show I’m joined by Tabitha Jayne, CEO of Earthself, Author and Applied Psychologist, and Ruby Toad, Ruby Toad.com and Rebel Spirit, as we tap into the Aquarius New Moon, and talk Collaboration and Quirks.

    In this episode, you'll hear:
Part One – Collaboration with Tabitha Jayne
“If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together” ~ African Proverb
    Tabitha shares:
How when we work together we can take on bigger challenges.

That we can learn a lot from how nature work’s in collaboration, it is not a system of independent parts.

What she has learnt by looking to nature to the answers for everything.

What nature can teach us about tackling both local, and global issues.

How we can make a difference to the causes we’re passionate about and stop feeling overwhelmed.

How one person can make a difference.

Why we need to change what we focus on.

The importance of our putting starting with own personal creativity, health and well-being, as change only happens when we’re in a relaxed state.

The powerful effect of speaking your truth, even if your knees are shaking.

How we have come much further than most people realise, and she shares some very inspiring examples.

How the internet and Facebook are our allies when we curate them to support us.

    The power of choice.
Part One – The Quirks Challenge with Ruby Toad
“Rebels don’t let rules and expectation override their intuition” ~ Ruby Toad
    Ruby shares:
We talk about what it means to be a rebel in today’s world, and how it’s far removed from the stereotypical leather jacket and motorbike boots.

Why it’s essential that you embody, rather than suppress, your SHEro Rebel.

How suppressing this aspect of yourself can lead to anxiety, feeling low, and disconnected.

How important having support is as you reclaim your SHEro Rebel Spirit.

We share our own biggest acts of rebellion (I’m not sure if mine’s an anti-rebellion!?!).

What to do when you feel that friends and family undermine you when you express your truth.

The importance of having a sacred practice such as kinesiology, yoga, meditation, walking, to support you to have a clear, mind and heart, so you can tune into your own voice.

Why healthy boundaries are so important.
    And of course…
We set you the SHEro challenge!
It’s a simple, but powerful one!

To join in with the challenge, come and join us in the SHEro’s Red Tent Temple FB group, and download the eGuide with additional tips, from the Enchanted Library

037 SHEro Denise Dare - Honour and Love Your Beautiful Sacred Self

Welcome! My guest today is Denise Dare, who knows the importance of cultivating the practice of self-love, and how this practice can allow you to honour and see your beautiful self.
Denise is a dreamer, writer, mystic, and home-educating, hippy mom of two daughters. She is a thought leader who began The Self-Love Sisterhood online community in 2015. This year, she is offering her first online course, The Sacred Art of Self-Love, to help women honour and love their beautiful sacred selves.
    Let’s catch up with Denise!

     In this episode, you'll hear:
Although self-love can be different for everyone, it embodies inquiry, awareness, and discovery.

When Denise was a teenager, she felt the self-doubt and started asking questions and reading personal development books.

Self-love has kept her afloat through challenges, failures, motherhood, etc.

Denise explains how self-love allows her to be the mom she wants to be.

Some of Denise’s favorite self-love practices include meditation, walking on the beach, yoga, meeting with girlfriends, etc.

The greatest gift Denise has received from self-love is that she knows she’s “good enough” and doesn’t have to question herself.

“Pain is for everyone, but suffering is our personal choice.”

“There is always room for more forgiveness.”

Denise advises surrounding yourself with supportive people and move others to the outer circle.

Denise uses self-love practices with her clients in giving them permission to do what they want and defining what “having it all” means to each of us.

She encourages her clients to meditate on what they want to “feel,” and determining what priorities matter most, and never losing the spirit of “play.”

How do you incorporate more self-love? Denise says to start with ONE thing. For her, the ONE thing was to say “I love you” in the mirror.

“Let it be inspired, not required.” (One of Denise’s favorite sayings)

For Denise, self-love includes gratitude, reading uplifting books, and nourishing the body.

She says to ask, “How can I nurture the little girl inside me?”

Top 4 Tips To From Denise: Practice gratitude for yourself

Think about something you can add to your schedule that makes you feel loved

    Be playful

Be open to sisterhood and ask for help when you need it

Carrie shares how yoga can change and empower your life.

    In this episode, you'll hear:
One of her first yoga teachers infused mindfulness into yoga without her even realising it.
Mindfulness is awareness to thoughts, sensations, and emotions; it’s being in the present moment.
Carrie explains the differences and similarities in the styles of yoga she practices.

However you “come to the yoga mat” leads to personal growth and freedom.
Carrie’s motivation to begin yoga classes was that she wanted “Madonna arms.”
After Carrie’s first yoga class, the mental calming component taught her that yoga was much more than just exercise.
She started immediately looking for opportunities to learn to be a yoga teacher.
Her childhood was traumatic, and she has had eating disorders and even spent time in rehab; it’s been yoga that helped her come to wholeness.
Early on, yoga had more of an impact on Carrie, but then the mindfulness brought benefits in various areas of her life.
Carrie fits yoga into her everyday life; she practices 6 days/week, morning and evening.
“I’m a much nicer person when I’m practising yoga regularly.”
Some people who are new to yoga want to experience it in the privacy and comfort of their own home, so Carrie’s online yoga studio helps with that.
Sacred Sangha offers live online classes, both monthly and weekly, along with e-courses, monthly themes, retreats, and even a book club!
Carrie teaches breathing techniques, chanting, and meditation—exploring them all in her teaching.
The community aspect of Carrie’s online clients is a huge benefit.
One way to practice mindfulness is to keep a journal, writing down how you move throughout your days.
To begin incorporating yoga, look for beginner classes, but don’t be afraid to try different teachers until you find the right one for you.
There are many resources are available to help with yoga, meditation, and mindfulness.
