This podcast and the accompanying online and offline communities are intended to create an honest and inviting space to discuss the single experience. It’s about changing the conversation around being single and finding ways to collaborate and build a stronger community among singlesomethings. We want to push back on outdated societal assumptions and perspectives so that we, the single people, can collectively frame and voice our own narrative about the single experience. We seek to eradicate the shame too often associated with being single, as well as the idea that older singles “"somehow are immature or not grown-ups"” or “just haven’t found the right one” or something must be wrong with them and they’ve been “left behind”. We even want to stop using the word “still” when it comes to our status. You’re not “still single”. You’re simply SINGLE.

Say What?! Language and Rhetoric Used Regarding the Single Experience

Words matter.  The words the media and friends, family, and colleagues use to talk about singles.  The words we ourselves use.   Our rhetoric shapes the way society thinks about us, and, very often, the way we think about ourselves.  Join us as Kimberly, Lisa, Carol, Greg, and I chat about the language and rhetoric used around being single.

Organic and Fresh

While it sounds like I'm describing a new restaurant , this podcast actually creates the same kind of feeling that successful new restaurants, bars, coffee houses are able to conjure up -- a sense of being "in" the "in crowd." Somehow able to crush old ideas about being single, Michele makes this whole process of embracing our identities in and out of relationships way less scary, more fun, and sweet. This podcast is an essential tool for taking out into the world ideals from the most advanced circles of self awareness and self improvement.

Brave, important new podcast

I so admire what this podcast does! I've spent so many years in "single shame" and didn't realize how much I needed to find a community of people like me, who are celebrating and wrestling with their awesome single lives. The group panel format feels like a lively dinner party--very fun and real! I come away from every episode feeling more connected and happy to live my life the way I'm currently living it.
