    Colossians 3:12-17 & Ephesians 5:20
Today we read Paul's letter to the Colossians. He writes, " And whatever you do, whether in word or action, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him." The kids will learn that this really means in whatever we do. We don't give thanks or serve God only when we are having fun or getting a gift.  To help them understand, we use real life examples: Instead of complaining that they they have to clean up their toys, they can remember they get to clean them up because they are thankful God gave them toys to clean up. I hope  today's episode reminds your family of God's truth and encourages conversations.

    #335: An Unexpected Discovery

    #335: An Unexpected Discovery

    Scripture Reference: 2 Kings 7:1-16, Proverbs 3:5
In the city of Samaria, there was a big problem—no food! Four lepers decide to go to the enemy camp to see if they can find anything to eat. To their surprise, they find the camp empty! Tune in to hear what God did that caused the camp to be empty and save the people in an unexpected way.
Kids will define what a famine and prophet are.  We’ll discuss the power and goodness of God; how He provides in ways we’d never expect and that we can trust our loving Father.  We’ll discuss how the lepers understood that to stay silent and to selfishly not share the blessings would be sin.  They knew others had no food!  They had a responsibility to share the good news. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

From the Archive- 220: You Were Made by God Himself

    Psalm 139 & Acts 17:25-26
Today, we jump right in learning that you can thank God for making you. He has a plan for you, a purpose, and was not suddenly surprised, scrambling to figure out where you would live and when you’d be born. God made YOU on purpose & the Bible doesn't say you are just an okay, kind of good work of God ... it says that you are a wonderful work of God! We discuss how we should be cautious to compare ourselves with others and how we can delight in our differences and similarities.

334: Bravery and a New Beginning

334: Bravery and a New Beginning

      Acts 9:10-19
In this episode of our "Hidden Gems" series, we delve into the remarkable story of Ananias, a disciple in Damascus, who is instructed by God to visit Saul (later known as Paul). Saul, notorious for persecuting Christians, has been blinded following his dramatic encounter with Jesus on the road to Damascus. Despite knowing Saul's fearsome reputation, Ananias obeys God's command and what happens? Saul gets baptized; setting Saul on a new path as a follower of Jesus.
    Key Takeaways:
Obedience to God: Ananias' willingness to follow God's command, despite his fear, shows his trust in God. Kindness to Opponents: Showing kindness to those who oppose us can be a powerful testament to our faith and can lead to remarkable changes. God's Plan: God's plans often involve using unexpected people for extraordinary purposes, as seen in Saul's conversion to Paul. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

333: God Answers the 5 Sisters

333: God Answers the 5 Sisters

Numbers 27:1-11. Join us on one of  Bible's lesser-known scriptures in our new series: "Hidden Gems: The Lesser-Known Stories of the Bible." In this episode, we explore the courageous scripture of the five Daughters of Zelophehad. Join us as we uncover how these remarkable sisters stood up in order to inherit their father’s land; a bold move that led to a historic change in the law.
    Key Takeaways:
Faith in Action: These sisters demonstrated profound faith and determination. Believing that God would provide for them, they took action, which reminds us that faith often requires us to step forward and act.
God's Just: The story highlights God’s commitment to justice. When Moses sought God’s guidance, He affirmed the sisters' plea, showing that God values the rights and inheritances of all His people, including women. Kids will remember that this was a first. Most cultures then didn’t value children and women but God changes that. Legacy of Change: The decision in favor of the Daughters of Zelophehad didn’t just affect their immediate situation—it instituted a new law that impacted the entire community. This shows how courageous actions can lead to significant societal changes.

#332: A Jar Full of Miracles

    2 Kings 4:1-7
In this episode, we explore the miraculous story of the Widow's Olive Oil from the book of 2 Kings. A widow, facing overwhelming debt and the threat of losing her sons, encounters the prophet Elisha, who guides her to trust in God's provision. With just a small jar of olive oil and a leap of faith, they witness a miraculous multiplication of oil that fills every jar gathered, providing for the widow's needs and beyond.
    Key Discussion Points:
What is debt, and why was the widow in trouble? How did the widow demonstrate faith in God's provision? What can we learn from the widow's story about trusting God in difficult times?    4. Encouragement for young listeners to trust in God's provision and to recognize the miracles in their own lives, no matter how small.
