Their willingness to be quiet often frustrates the fanbase but coming off the heels of a State of Play that was expected to be a PlayStation Showcase of 2024 a section of the fanbase is concerned while another is seemingly mad. News of Astrobot and Lego Horizon Adventures are being met with mixed receptions and most want to know more about first party bigger releases as well as Spider-Man 2 DLC.

Xbox game pass is unquestioned as one of the best values in gaming today but despite that it is a constant source of debate on whether it is good or bad for Xbox and gaming as a whole. Leading up to the Xbox Showcase 2024 I thought we'd see Xbox downplay Game Pass but they came out swinging with a series of great-looking trailers with every single one of them followed by "play it on game pass" proving my theory completely wrong.

My Xbox Showcase reaction was almost universally positive. The Xbox Games Showcase 2024 kicked off with a Call of Duty Black Ops 6 trailer, followed by Phil Spencer, and an amazing Doom The Dark Ages trailer. It was clearly the biggest event of Summer Game Fest 2024. But there were a few things that went unnoticed.

Sarah Bond and Matt Booty were also there including the Starfield Shattered Space DLC trailer and Stalker 2 and then there was an IGN Phil Spencer interview that made some things very clear.
