In this tailgate we had to bring RC Mayfield back to the tailgate after Pop Isaacs hit the portal to discuss all things Texas Tech Basketball and the offseason. We start off by discussing the Steffe tweet (3:30) and RC's reaction to it. Then we dissect how we ended up with Pop in the portal (7:30) and discuss the other names that have entered as well. We shift our conversation to an overall view of this portal/NIL era and discuss programs that have struggled and succeeded during this era (25:46). In this week's tailgate we recap the disappointing loss to NC State in round 1 of the NCAA tournament (2:22). We discuss what went wrong and why the Red Raiders never seemed to get control of the moment. We end the hoops season by remember how special this season has been and the amazing job Coach McCasland did in year 1 to get this program back on track. With the end of the season comes Transfer Portal season, so we rank the guys on the squad based on how sure we are we will see them in the Red & Black next season (23:20).
