Psychopaths and Openness to Experience 39:13:41

Siren discusses her experiences with psychopathy, bullying, and the human tendency to test limits and break things. She acknowledges a personal trait of being rough with objects, necessitating durable possessions, and compares this to psychopaths' behavior in testing people's limits. She describes herself as someone who pushes others to confront painful experiences or thoughts for the sake of personal growth, akin to a form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. She suggests that while psychopaths can be seen as bullies, they may also serve a role in forcing individuals to process unresolved issues, grow, and become more resilient. She notes that being a 'bad guy' can sometimes be beneficial, as it can prompt change and development.



She also reflects on her own behavior in relationships and how traumatic experiences have shaped her personality, learning, and adaptability. She considers the idea that nature, including human nature, is not inherently kind or nurturing, proposing that psychopaths might bridge the gap between humans and the harshness of nature. They conclude that while bullying does not make one emotionally stronger, it can help build resilience and the capacity to handle future challenges by forcing self-realization and personal growth, albeit through uncomfortable or harsh means. She emphasizes that despite the unpleasant nature of bullying, it can inadvertently lead to the strengthening of the self. The story I tell about childhood being at 8, actually started earlier as I talked to my mum later about it. She said one of my teachers in year 1 or 2 would call and hound her about me failing to do my homework... so... maybe 6 or 7 then.



I only knew one group of guys that stole a car, when I was 19-20ish. It was a long time ago, but I thought it cool at the time because it was very uncommon.



I lived in China, Germany, Brazil and Mexico over the 5 years. And I also went to the UK a few times, to the US for a few weeks (Austin, TX close to Mexico where I was living - I have a relative in Arizona so will go visit them one day but was during covid so didn't at the time), and also went to Morocco for a weekend (close to Germany, can claim I've been to Africa. Even though wasn't Sub-Saharan Africa but they still have the french influence in Morocco which was fascinating - I'd like to see Nigeria as they have the highest GDP and Tanzania because they have cool gemstones but yeah...) - very high openness to experience and very low fearfulness.
