The Dicrimination of Immigrant in History

Hello, my name is Leslie Holguin. Welcome back to “Discriminations of Immigrants in History”. This week we will be focusing on Latinos and the racism they have faced throughout history. We will discuss immigrants, the Mexican-American history of laborers, and a closer view of a novel that deals with these issues first hand. Taking a closer look at the beautifully written novel by Maria Helena Viramountes, Under the Feet of Jesus, the listeners will hear the heroic story about a young girl's struggle as a farmworker here in the United States. I am excited to dive deep into the background of those people who have helped build America.
