16-year-old Kaydence (Kayd) Harrow and her 12-year-old have been running from the Authority for 4 years. The longer they are wandering, following maps her father had given her before he and her mother were killed in a fire, Kayd starts to fall into her thoughts to the point of getting lost. Galen has the Gift of Prophecy, and had a vision of a Green-Eyed Man that would overthrow the dictator. But when Galen has a new vision where sees Kayd and the Green-Eyed Man talking, he urges them to continue on... only for them to be captured by an unexpected person.
