    The value of vulnerability

    The value of vulnerability

This week we chat about the difference between transparency and vulnerability and how being vulnerable can bring value to our lives and our connection with the people in our lives - even though being vulnerable is difficult!

If you want to dig deeper into the topic of vulnerability go check out Brene Browns ted talk or her talk on Netflix: A call to courage. She has a bunch of great books we also recommend.

We will be continuing the conversation about how to be courageous in the things we are passionate about on our Instagram live conversation, Friday 26th June 2020

    Courageously passionate

    Courageously passionate

We are talking about discovering where the things you are passionate about intersect with your purpose.

We also talk about how we can take courageous steps to sharing the things we are passionate about with others.

Find out where your passions intersect with you purpose by answer the questions Nicole mentioned in this episode:

List 4 things you are passionate about or enjoy doing
List 4 things you are good at or talented in
Create a new list from the things that link or appear in the two previous lists

    Other questions to ask yourself:

How can I use these thing to serve the people/community around me?
What needs in society am I most passionate about?
What are the biggest problems I would like to solve?
Where would I like to see more people contributing?

    Wrestling with Motivation

    Wrestling with Motivation

We talk about where we get motivation and what it is.

We also talk about motivation in terms of creativity, doing things we don't like to do and motivation in our faith.

Here are the practical tips Fiona mentions to help you stay or find some motivation:

    Record small accomplishments.
    Share results.
Focus on the feeling you'll feel when you accomplish/finish your task.
Break overwhelming tasks into smaller more doable tasks that are less intimidating.
    Take a 10-minute nap.
Make a right brain/left brain switch.
Get moving - go for a walk.

It you want to find out more about the science of motivation you can watch these 2 videos: A short video or A little bit of a longer video

We will be continuing the conversation about how we stay motivated in our faith, to remain motivated to grow and press in and keep pursuing Jesus on our Instagram live conversation, Friday 29th May 2020
