One of the most powerful things you can do if you have made it through your storm is to share your story. While this might scare you, it is very therapeutic and it can also help so many people.
My next guest is doing just that.
Retired SGT Mark DiBona is helping so many first responders by sharing his struggles, and how he overcame them. He came close to taking his own life twice during his 33-year law enforcement career. His diagnoses of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), depression, and anxiety nearly ended his career. On his road to recovery, Mark was and is still very open about the struggles he encountered and the lack of support he received.
Mark shares how he personally found strength to step away from the precipice and what the rest of us can do to help.
    A great and powerful interview.

Are you the person who signs up for all the overtime at your job? Are you constantly thinking about work? You need to step away from the job when you are off.
The extra money you make in OT will NEVER take the place of time spent with your family and kids. Trust me. I learned this the hard way. Start prioritizing the PEOPLE in your life, instead of the stuff you want.
Balance your life out. You will thank you me later.

In patient treatment for most people is a life saver. I know, I was received treatment and it helped save my life. What some don't understand, or better yet don't want to accept, is that this is just the beginning of your journey of sobriety and and overall health and wellness.
Inpatient treatment treats, but your Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and other therapy after your inpatient is probably the most important part of your treatment journey.
My next Guest is going to explain why.

This week I want you to really reflect and think about the people who you spend the most time with. This could be family or it could be friends. Ask yourself are they helping or hindering. If they do not bring any value to your life and make you strive for greatness then it's time to leave them behind.
Now this might sound harsh, but it's necessary for your overall health and wellbeing. Don't be afraid to move on from people who are negative, toxic and complain all the time. They LOVE company.
Take charge of your inner circle and watch how your attitude changes for the better.

Go somewhere where you won't be disturbed. Tell people you won't be available for a bit. Turn off your phone, find a comfortable place to sit and close your eyes. I want you to listen to the noises around you. Feel where you are sitting. Smell the odors around you and be STILL. Calm you mind. Be present. The stillness is your friend.
We all are going 100mph all the time. Take time to relax. Take time to be still. Take time to be present in the moment. This moment will never return.
Go out and conquer your day.
