I made this podcast as a demo tape for a contract position at the National Institutes of Health Intramural Research Program. Since the position involved telling scientific stories I interviewed Jeff Ballin about the Vaping and some of the dangers that have become associated with it. Additionally, we talked about the new methodologies being used for testing to reduce the amount of testing on animals.


I had some production trouble with this episode which will be remidied by the purchase of a boom arm in the future.

The Prologue Notes

This news podcast was produced for NPR and Slate applications. I decided to cover an emerging news story and to give it the historical context that is often lacking in television reporting. The major difficulty was deciding which events to summarize and how short of a summary should they be. In my reporting I tried to go for an unbiased tone, such as calling the Houthi an armed group rather than a terrorist group or a freedom fighter group.

It's Not Just Propaganda

I made this demo tape for the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum (USHMM). The primary mission of the USHMM is to educate people about the Holocaust and to try to prevent future genocides from happening. Since part of the position was that of researcher, I searched through the USHMM digital collection to find primary documents. I found the journal of Staff Sergeant Louis Ranciato and decided to make a podcast episode that would tie in with the USHMM American Witnesses exhibit.

Wait... why is this a bad thing?

This podcast was made about the Kashmir controversy that was going on during August 2019. The Quincy Institute is a bipartisan think tank who's mission is to produce policy papers to American military intervention overseas. I decided that covering a U.S. foreign policy crisis would make a good impression.


In this podcast I try my best to give context to the Kashmir conflict so that the controversy around President's Trumps could be better understood.
