Last week in Eps 15, I gave you some tips to set up your first sales coaching session.Today I'm going to give you some tips on how to actually run this first coaching session.A good idea is to get your salesperson to listen to their own sales call (ideally two) in advance of the coaching session. This helps them to prepare mentally and to uncover, understand and unlock the issues.You could point something out a dozen times but when your sales team understand that something needs to change, they are more likely to take ownership of the problem and the resulting solution.
The person being coached discovers that something needs to change - they uncover  The person being coached realises that they they need to be the agent of that change - they understand The person being coached guides themselves to the point where they take responsibilty for the change and take action - they unlock When your sales team learn to reflect more on their own performance, they will also be more ‘coachable’ by you.And that's what you want!
