Anxious? Luke 12:22-34 (audio)
We are anxious people living among anxious people. Sometimes our anxiety looks like crippling paralysis and sometimes it looks like frantic plate-spinning. As we continue in Luke 12, we'll notice the tone change in today's passage. After a series of rebukes and warnings, Jesus speaks a gentler, reassuring word to His disciples. Anxious people like us desperately need to hear what Jesus says.

It is good to gain an income through work and it's wise to plan for the future. But can security and joy be attained through selfishly storing up earthly treasures? The world says it's possible and our hearts are prone to believe it. But what does Jesus say?

When 2 things are pitted against one another, we often feel comfortable landing somewhere in the middle. But is that possible when it comes to spiritual things?
In today's passage, the spiritual power of God in Christ is pitted against the spiritual power of Satan. And Jesus makes it clear that there is no in-between, no neutral ground spiritually speaking.
Let's make it clear that we have joined with Jesus.
