    1999. She went on to write her first book in 2001, Find Where the Wind Goes, which was a children's book about her life. Currently she is leading the 100 Year Starship project through the United States Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA)

    she was quit the space agency to pursue interests in "teaching, mentoring, health care issues and increasing participation in science and technology of those who have traditionally been left out."
