Storyteller - Week 1 - Matthew 13:24-30;36-43

Parables were obviously a very important form of communication for Jesus. There are at least 40 parables throughout Matthew, Mark and Luke, or the synoptic gospels. The word parable literally means, “to set side-by-side,” or, “to compare.” They are stories that help us to understand something about the kingdom of God, and something about ourselves. Jesus would take a familiar earthly image and use it to teach spiritual truth! In this series we are looking at a different parable each week that Jesus told in Matthew’s gospel.

In the midst of a global pandemic everyone is feeling the pressure of life. In Paul's letter to the Christians in Ephasus he calls them to arms in a spiritual war against the powers and principalities of this world. In this series we will become prepared to engage fully in this spiritual war that is being waged by our spiritual enemy as we learn to put on the full armor of God.
