Worth The Wait is a gospel-centered podcast seeking to encourage college students and young adults. We are focused around the question, "How can Christians practice a life of stillness and surrender in the midst of a nonstop culture?" The passage we have centered this around is Psalm 27. Knowing this truth about who God is, and His role of interceding in our lives, we should always wait for Him to move, and for Him to speak, so that we may see His glory. We don’t wait on God so that we can avoid difficulties; we wait on the Lord because the plan He has for us is always worth the wait. Enjoy!

3: The Pursuit of Being Pursued

3: The Pursuit of Being Pursued

In this episode, we talk about the role of guys and girls in romantic relationships. We examine why men are called to be the ones who pursue women and why it is not weak for women to remain still. We examine multiple passages of scripture that paint and image of this to emphasize the gospel with it. Overall, in the same way that God continues to pursue us, we are ultimately called to pursue him FIRST before we pursue someone else. Enjoy!

2: To Swipe or Not To Swipe? With Josh Bradford

2: To Swipe or Not To Swipe? With Josh Bradford

Hey guys! This week Kaitlin interviews Josh Bradford, a senior at Samford, to talk about the stigmas surrounding online dating and dating in college. It’s so easy to feel like the odd man out when all of your friends are in relationships; especially in the middle of a pandemic when we’re feeling more isolated than ever before. Online dating is an easy way to communicate with others in your area, and it can be pretty addictive when it comes to the never ending swipe options. In this episode, we talk about the stigma of why online dating is so frowned upon, what results it actually delivers, and what mindset to approach online dating with as a Christian. Online dating can be a great tool, when used with the right intentions, to meet others and determine if there’s anything to pursue down the road. Continuing with college dating, we discuss what the perceived pressures of dating in college translate to when it comes time for graduation, and why the “Ring before Spring!” may not always be the best route to take. Enjoy!

    1: Worldly vs. Biblical Relationships

    1: Worldly vs. Biblical Relationships

In this episode, we will be examining the different messages proclaimed about relationships. Our culture has standardized what a relationship looks like through movies, television shows, and books, creating an expectation for what it means to be "in a relationship." The world will tell us that if we aren't "talking" to someone or getting engaged that we are doing something wrong. With this, singleness has gotten the reputation of being a bad thing (more on this coming in Episode 4). But what changes about these truths when we focus on what God says about relationships? Everything. Now, there isn't any scripture that flat out talks about how to have a godly relationship in the dating world. What the Bible does teach on is being in relationship with one another and how we are to treat our brothers and sisters in Christ. We are to be image bearers of Christ and how we treat others should point back to the glory of God. We don't date or get married because it is an expectation or because it will make us feel good. We have relationships with one another because we are called to be in community. Man was not designed to be alone, so he made woman. When we are together, we give God more glory than when we are apart. We hope that as you listen that the Lord would give you wisdom on the purpose of relationships and would destroy any lies that are keeping you from loving Him more. Enjoy!
