    • TV & Film

We are kicking off a whole new series on plant horror entitled BOTANICAL TERROR! On this, Part I - Sinister Sprouts, we begin by discussing the very beginnings of plant horror. Jean-Paul Sartre’s Nausea had a big influence on the genre, as well as many cultural and societal fears such as Cold War invasion and conformity. Join us as we discuss a variety of 50s science fiction/horror films including The Thing from Another World (1951), The Thing (1982), Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956), Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978), Body Snatchers (1993), The Invasion (2007), Voodoo Island (1957), From Hell It Came (1957), and The Woman Eater (1958).
