Metal Jammin' Ep.3 Pantera - Far Beyond Driven

Metal Jammin' Ep.3 Pantera - Far Beyond Driven

This week Alec and David cover the third major studio release by Pantera, "Far Beyond Driven". The heaviest album to ever top the no. 1 on Billboard, it has been praised by fans, critics, and musicians alike. What is the one thing record companies can learn from trying to tell metal bands to go pop? Keep doing it because it only pisses them off and creates their heaviest record yet. This episode has everything from drills up the butt, to chronic back pain, to David *attempting* to talk like Philip Anselmo. Welcome to the Metal Jam baby!

Metal Jammin' Ep. 2: Code Orange - Underneath

This week we look at the third studio album by the Pittsburgh Metalcore unit Code Orange, Underneath. Released right at the start of the lockdown this album blends Metalcore, Industrial Metal, and Hard Rock to make it one of the most unique and awesome metal albums of the past decade. A personal favorite of ours, Alec and David will take you through the world of Underneath and also a new segment, METAL NEWS! We look at the headlines of recent metal news and make comments on them with our very academic brains.

Van Jammin' Episode 4: July 4th Special: Jimi Hendrix: Live At Woodstock

Van Jammin' Episode 4: July 4th Special: Jimi Hendrix: Live At Woodstock

Welcome back for Episode 4 of Van Jammin! This week we discuss the famous Jimi Hendrix live set at Woodstock 69'. There are some killer renditions of Voodoo Child and Spanish Castle Magic on this album, just to name a few. Of course, there is the infamous (at the time) rendition of the Star Spangled Banner. Hendrix's version is a statement of love and frustration to a country that was fighting a war that many viewed as pointless. We hope you enjoy this special 4th of July episode! Get in the van!

Van Jammin' Episode 2: To Terrapin: Hartford 77' - Part I

Van Jammin' Episode 2: To Terrapin: Hartford 77' - Part I

Welcome back to Van Jammin Episode 2! Now here me out, Donna is actually a good singer. On this episode we discuss the To Terrapin: Hartford 77' live album by the Grateful Dead released in 2009 and was recorded at the Hartford Civic Center on the last night of the Grateful Dead's Famous 1977 spring tour. Hits like Sugaree, Terrapin Station, Not Fade Away, and Estimated Prophet are just a few of our favorites off of this album. With one of the greatest sounding live records the dead have released and with an incredible setlist, it is hard not to get up and dance. We couldn't even cover the whole album in an hour and ended up having to do a part II, that's how good this album is. So strap in and listen to it, ya schmuck.
