I-80 Football Show: NFL Draft + NBA Playoffs
Welcome to a new episode of Land-Grant Podcast Network’s I-80 Football Show. On this show, we travel down I-80 to talk all things Big Ten Football. This is the only Big Ten Podcast that’ll cover all 18 teams. After every week of action, we will catch you up on all the conference’s games and look ahead at the matchups, storylines, and players you should be paying attention to for the next week. My name is Jordan Williams, and I am joined by my co-host Dante Morgan.
The guys are back and there is a lot to talk about. The spring transfer portal is open and while there are not many key Big Ten players in the portal the portal isn’t going anywhere. The NCAA just approved unlimited transferring which means players finally have free movement. While we agree that the players should be able to move freely Jordan thinks there needs to be a few guidelines in place to protect the players. Most of the players who transfer more than once are not going to be headed to the NFL, what obligation does the NCAA have to protest them academically?
The NFL draft is around the corner and there are a bunch of current or future Big Ten schools represented in the first round. Led by USC’s Caleb Williams the top of the draft will have representation all over the board. Ohio State’s Marvin Harrison Jr. and Washington’s Rome Odunze are at the top of the boards while Penn State’s Olu Fashanu is one of the highest-rated offensive linemen in the draft. It may be a bit of a reach if you ask us but Michigan JJ McCarthy is projected to hear his name called in the first five picks! Stay tuned as the Big Ten will be heavily represented in the top ten picks.
The NBA playoffs are here, does anyone have a chance to stop the Nuggets and Celtics from making the finals? Plus are Luka Doncic and Nikola Jokic on track to be better than LeBron James? Dante thinks so.

Bucketheads Podcast: Roddy Gayle and Zed Key have entered the transfer portal
“Bucketheads” is LGHL’s men’s basketball podcast, hosted by Connor Lemons and Justin Golba. Every episode, they give you the latest scoop on the Ohio State Buckeyes and everything else happening in the college hoops world.
On episode 116, we are officially in the transfer portal and scoops season, and the Buckeyes have been involved in both.
First, we discuss Roddy Gayle Jr. and Zed Key's entering the transfer portal. We also discuss their careers in Columbus and where they could land and what might be the best fit for them.
Then, we talk about the reports that John Calipari showed interest in the Ohio State job before the Buckeyes hired Jake Diebler. What does interest actually mean? And do we think there was actually a chance Cal could have ended up in Columbus?
Lastly, Ohio State hired Joel Justus as an assistant coach and Bronny James is in the transfer portal and has entered the NBA draft. We close the episode by giving our opinions about both of those things.

I-80 Football Show: March is for Women's Basketball
Welcome to a new episode of Land-Grant Podcast Network’s I-80 Football Show. On this show, we travel down I-80 to talk all things Big Ten Football. This is the only Big Ten Podcast that’ll cover all 18 teams. After every week of action, we will catch you up on all the conference’s games and look ahead at the matchups, storylines, and players you should be paying attention to for the next week. My name is Jordan Williams, and I am joined by my co-host Dante Morgan.
If you, like 12 million other people, were in front of your TV watching the Women’s March Madness tournament you witnessed two great games played by four stars, one per team. In this episode, we break down the two games including questioning LSU head coach Kim Mulkey’s questionable game plan against Caitlin Clark. Clark is a generational talent and Mulkey was content to let her do whatever she wanted refusing to make adjustments even when star center Angel Reeses reaggravated an ankle injury or point guard Hailey Van Lith struggled to slow Clark down. Ultimately Clark and the Iowa Hawkeyes avenged their loss in the national championship game and head to the final four to play UConn.
In the other game, we saw what it looked like when a coach had respect for an opposing team's player. UConn was intent on making it hard on USC star freshman JuJu Smith throwing every type of defensive look at her. JuJu still ended up having a good game but the UConn pressure was too much to overcome especially with Paige Bueckers playing an amazing game in her first tournament back from injury!
Lastly, the guys discuss the impact these players have had on college basketball and the positives and negatives of the social media debates around Monday’s games. Stay tuned, the tournament isn’t over as two of the best players in the 2020 recruiting class will face off while undefeated South Carolina is looking to spoil NC State's magical run en route to another championship appearance.
