We (Nadz and Shuga) took on the work and travel journey under the circumstances brought forth by the Covid-19 pandemic.The decision was/to assist with tertiary life, but there is more to it than they were ever told. 

One of us spent and lost way more than planned, while the other is just figuring it out.

No story is quite the same, so we (Nordia 'Nadz' Panther and Shanna -  Kay 'Shuga' Brown), decided to reveal a bit about our experiences throughout our  tertiary journey. 

One of us appeared to have had things a little more figured out than the other did, but we sure had a few things in common: an empty pocket and a  willing spirit.    

Whether working, borrowing or leaning on the support from charitable organizations, we had to get the assistance we needed to get us a little further to our goals.

Trigeminal Neuralgia?? Huh??? Before this episode, we too were uncertain what that term is all about.

This episode features a 22 year old, Daena - Shae McIntosh. She is actively involved in her community and will be graduating from the University of the West Indies, Mona, in short order. Eight years ago, her health record took a drastic turn,due to a condition called Trigeminal Neuralgia and often referred to as the 'Suicide Diseases.' Even though recently diagnosed with this condition, she is quite a familiar with the pain, discomfort and depression that comes along with. 

Daena - Shae is a survivor and young women who is hanging closely to hope.

Shanecia Brown, a soon to be graduate of the University of the West Indies-Mona, is determined to change her narrative. She is the first in her family, and to her knowledge, her community, to have gone to university. Her circumstances inspire her, but her economic situation makes her goal harder to attain. On her journey, disappointments are familiar to her, but her drive and good samaritans, help to lighten her load.

Looking back is never easy. It takes courage to open ourselves to the world and be vulnerable. Shanecia has proven her courage, resourcefulness and persistence. Shanecia sees the light at the end of the tunnel.
