Ep. 3 | Society if We Had Ghosts (Ghost in the Shell Analysis)
Skip 27:11-44:40 to avoid SPOILERS | Recently, I've been trying to tap into my repressed anime fan side, and in the process, I came upon "Ghost in the Shell" (1995). Directed by Mamoru Oshii with an original story by Masamune Shirow, its dialogues surrounding humanity, ethics, and the intersectionality of humans and technology were compelling and astounding to watch. In just one hour and 22 minutes, this film made me appreciate the art of animation as a form of storytelling. (I mess up Motoko's name in the video/audio, please forgive me on that!) In the next episode, I'll be covering the horror of "The Lighthouse" as well as the beauty of the modern myth.

Ep. 2 | The Wackiest of Quests: An Intro to Jojo's Bizarre Adventure
Today I ditch the script to introduce one of my favorite animes: Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. It's wacky, it's senseless, and it's probably the most impressive feat of animation that I've ever seen. If you want to see "spirit Pokemon", dudes with anatomically questionable muscles, and memes galore, this show is for you. I also discuss why it's important to enjoy what you're a fan of, even if it might be considered "different". SPOILERS are from 21:55-38:07. Ep. 1 | There Will Be Lots of Blood: A Character Study
Welcome to the first episode of my brand new podcast, Movie(ish)! This week we take a look at 2007's "There Will Be Blood" starring Daniel Day-Lewis and Paul Dano, directed by Paul Thomas Anderson. The film was super hefty to tackle for the first episode, but nonetheless I take time to analyze the two titular characters as well as address the themes surrounding one small town's oil boom.
