Bernadette O'Connell's Story - Educating Other's Via Her Own Challenges

Bernadette O'Connell's Story - Educating Other's Via Her Own Challenges

Bernadette was my roommate when I first came to Maryland. Lively, funny and a blast to live with, we became friends and have continued our friendship for 25 years.
Life soon took over when we finished college. She got married, had kids and went to Ireland. We still kept in touch and met occasionally. However, I realized recently that there was so much I did not know about my friend's path after college life.
She is a hidden hero as I would like to call her. She gave up many opportunities to be with her two special needs kids. And while homeschooling, running them to doctor's appointments etc she started to write books about her experiences as a mother of these two precious kids.
Her books provide valuable insight and tips for other parents when dealing with special needs kids.
Listen in to how Bernadette did it her way.

Aissa Encomienda's Story - A Beautiful Vision to Help People

I knew that Aissa was very special from the moment we met at a party in Maryland. Her enthusiasm and positive energy radiated and filled the room.  But, there was something else. A debilitating issue with her vision has not deterred this beautiful lady. She came to the US when she was in her 20's. And as all immigrants she has worked hard to provide a wonderful life for herself, her husband and kids.

She teaches Zumba to seniors, helps people with their mortgages and now has opened up an Active Day Care Center for Seniors with a vision to help those in the community.

Listen to her story in this episode!

Lacey Braden’s Story: Capturing Beauty through Photography

Lacey Braden is a math high school teacher turned photographer with a huge heart! I first met her while we worked at Parkville High School in Baltimore. Besides this amazing project, she also photographs everything! Weddings, babies, etc. And not only that but now she is teaching and coaching others to do so as well.
I won't go into more details. Listen to us chat!
You can find Lacey on Zen Folio at her website at Braden Event Photography, Instagram under be.photography_ (Braden Event Photography) and also follow her Facebook page Braden Event Photography.
