Here's the WHM Behind the Laughter reason: We made the pilot and Andrew had put it up as a way to test the whole thing. iTunes ended up featuring our podcast as New and Noteworthy, so that episode was getting a lot of downloads, and we were getting 1 star reviews due to the sound quality. Then as people began to listen to the show, a lot of folks like to start podcasts from episode 1. So we were doing ourselves a favor by deleting it. So if you're a super fan and you still have it or found it, cool, but we no longer consider it canon.
