Camdencast: A Baltimore Orioles podcast. Camdencast
-
- Sport
The Baltimore Orioles have not won the World Series since 1983. If this fact makes you feel things, Camdencast is the place for you. This is the home of Good Morning Birdland, with a new podcast every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday morning. Camden Chat's Mark Brown runs through the latest news, chats about the ongoing Orioles quest to go from a #1 farm system to being a playoff-caliber team, and shares listener emails.

Former Oriole Check-in, Part 1
How are the Orioles doing right now? Mark doesn't know, because he's on vacation, so he recorded this podcast ahead of time in which he shows what a sicko he is by talking about every former Oriole (or prospect) who's appeared with an MLB team this season. How sicko? It's thorough enough to discuss Tobias Myers. This is part 1 of 2, covering Angels through Dodgers.

Almost Halfway There
The Orioles snapped their five-game skid with a win on Wednesday and Mark is mighty glad for that because it wouldn't have been pretty to think about the team after being swept twice. There are things to worry about with the team, but then again, the Yankees have their problems too. Also in this episode, a look ahead to the Rangers, and a final check-in on some lower-ranked and unranked prospects in the system and how they've done so far this year.

The Letdown
As Orioles fans know from last year, you can have a great team that finishes with a great record and it still has rough patches. Mark laments the swerve from feeling confident after the Yankees series to the dampened hopes after the Astros sweep - though it's not like he's not used to it. Also in this episode, a look ahead to the O's next opponent, the Guardians, and a mailbag question about Anthony Santander being on a 40-home run pace and what the O's should do about it.

The Yankees Are Shook
It doesn't get much better than the Orioles blowing out the Yankees by shelling their AL ERA leader (he's not any more), so Mark is basking in the glow of that victory with this observation: The Yankees are shook by the O's. That was obvious in the series in Baltimore and it's continued. New York is ahead in the standings for now, but the O's are in their head and it's fun. May we all deliver such stoic, swift vengeance as Gunnar Henderson.

Another Test Passed
After winning two of three from the Braves, the Orioles had another test looming against the Phillies this past weekend. Mark runs through the good stuff from the weekend series with some in person impressions from Sunday, then frets about the probably pending bad news about Kyle Bradish. Guess what's next? Another test against the Yankees, with first place potentially at stake.

Trade Rumor Season Begins
The Orioles started off their nine games against contenders by going 2-1 against the Braves - fun except for everyone who went to the one loss, including Mark. It showed how the O's could probably use some bullpen help, which is the subject of speculation as we start with trade rumor season. Mark discusses a Ken Rosenthal rumor that the O's are checking in for righty-batting outfield help and monitoring the starter market too.
