Although it is not universal and might yet prove to be temporary, there is some good news coming out of the global metal markets this month.

  

For anyone involved in the scrap metal business, 2018 will be a year to forget.

But with the temporary cessation of tariff hostilities between the US and China still holding and with rumours that the suspension of tariff increases might be extended, 2019 has started with some cautious optimism.
