3 of us went on an adventure once and bought a charcoal pencil that was allegedly used by William Shakespeare himself. But after a while, it started fading out and we weren't sure if it was 2B or not 2B. And our misadventures ultimately became the sui-generis of a spontaneous podcast about everyday lives and issues of common public.

The Hud Hud Dabbang Culture, Vikas Dubey, and more

What’s up Mitron. If you were waiting for this episode, we are sorry. If you were not, you should have been, come on! Anyway, this time around the 3 Men on Air talk about the notorious Dabbang Culture, its roots in caste and class, the economics of this system and its ugly manifestations in India’s social and political life. Subho narrates how he studied with would be small-time gangsters in school and what he observed. All of this is in the context of the “encounter” of history-sheeter Vikas Dubey who was a classic UP Dabbang. This is an interesting one, with lots of gripping stories and shocking incidents. We hope you like it.

Episode 5- Deconstructing Pataal Lok (Very Late)

Hello lovely people. The boys are back after a small break. We were in quarantine (just kidding). We were watching Pataal Lok, and that is what this episode is all about. I know we are late to the party but the party is where we are at. AMIRITE?
Anyway, the boys deconstruct the show and analyze the themes that run in the show. They discuss Hathoda Tyagi’s compulsions, islamophobia in the police force, the nature of crime and caste in India, and much more.
We worked really hard on this one. Hope you like it.

You’ve heard of slut-shaming, but have you ever heard of environmental slut-shaming? Well, the 3 men who are supposed to be on air are here to tell you. In Episode 4, the break-down Matt Ridley’s article “Ecology or Economics: Which has done more for our environmental future?”. The bois discuss what is the best way to deal with climate change- is it a model that sacrifices economic growth for the sake of protecting the environment or is it finding a balance and using technology to reduce the human footprint and co-exist with nature?

The DUI State and Other Rants

The DUI State and Other Rants

The bois are back! For the 3rd episode of this podcast, they talk about how the Indian state is “Driving under the influence”, multiple examples of state failures, especially in this lockdown and the reasons behind it. Subho brings up how the migrant crisis was a big, big example of this failure and how its effects will be felt for quite some time. This makes Karan and Anas go into what I call “The Rant Zone” and the bois hilariously rant about a number of things after that.

Episode 2- Rethinking Harari's "The World After Coronavirus"

Episode 2- Rethinking Harari's "The World After Coronavirus"

Hey, you there! Welcome back to episode 2 of 3 Men on Air. This time around, these 3  “men” (air quotes) deconstruct Yuva Noah Harari’s viral article “The World After Coronavirus”. Doing something that is virtually unheard in this age of the “WhatsApp University”, the bois pump nuance and perspective into Harari’s portrait of a post-Coronavirus future. Being the sakht LIbertarian that he is, Subho talks about the increasing power of the state in this pandemic and how that is problematic for the future. Anas brings in the Netflix Documentary “The Great Hack” and how technology was used to control and manipulate the public and how the reckless data collection during the pandemic can bring about a similar if not worse situation. But Karan feels differently and even talks about the FBI agents listening in to the Zoom call over which this podcast was recorded. And as the FBI says, you have the right to remain silent and listen to this podcast and rate it and share it.

Episode 1- Lockdowns, "Chinese Virus" and our Perilous Times

Hola! Namaste! Satsiriakal Listeners! Welcome to the inaugural episode of 3 Men On Air (referred to in this episode as Spontaneous Talks because the bois can’t finalize a name). I am the editor/ producer/ the guy who writes the description for this podcast.

In Episode 1 the aforementioned bois talk about their COVID lockdown blues, predictions for the future, and other random things. Karan rants about his competitive exams which are in 57 odd days along with his fading optimism. Subho discusses the generational change that COVID has brought on us. Anas casually leads the podcast into a discussion about the Indian PM’s “adventures” during this pandemic including his announcements, TV addresses, and more. I won’t spoil the entire podcast in the description, listen to it na! Please?
