The Importance of Information Systems to Start-up Companies
In this episode, I bought up my friend Erika Shi to discuss with me the importance of information systems to start-up companies. Erika is a third-year undergraduate currently pursuing Double Bachelors of Commerce and Information Systems at the University of New South Wales. She aspires to become a technopreneur who would innovate sustainable products that can bridge the digital divide gap and improve the social wellbeing of society as a whole. Erika is an avid inquisitive and wild thinker who always love to challenge beyond her comfort zone. Currently, she is involving in several extracurricular projects such as being a Fintech research assistant for her professor ASEAN project, involving in committees for Women in Tech, Entrepreneurship and Cloud Computing School societies as well as being a freelance technical writer on Medium. Furthermore, she is managing two of her mini social businesses on Instagram which is @theclimbwithin with a strong focus on passive-aggressive mental wellness advocates as well as @sheboss to address and recognize the underrepresentation of women in entrepreneurship and spread women empowerment to feature outstanding female contributions. Erika aims to start her own tech business upon graduation on the side-lines while looking into technological consulting, cloud solution architect or Fintech venture capital jobs that are part of the evolving technological landscape to gain first-hand experience in working with different enterprises, especially start-ups that she is highly fond of to venture into and propel her business there.
