Welcome to my Everything Salty Podcast
I have finally (after 12 years!) decided to put my Journalism degree to good use and am starting (for now) a monthly podcast dedicated to bringing you inspirational and useful stories, experiences, advice and guidance from the world of marine conservation.
I will talk to scientists, students, project founders, eco business owners and lots of different types of conservationists, both big and small, who are carrying out amazing work protecting the planet and more specifically, our oceans!

In my latest conversation I talk to Alyssa Nicole, a primary school teacher from Chicago who decided to use her time during lockdown to plan, write, edit and design her first children's book dedicated to teaching children (and their parents) through the adventures of a courageous girl called about the state of our oceans and what we can do to help protect oceans!
It was a pleasure to speak to Alyssa and she is a very passionate and inspiring advocate and extremely proactive and dedicated to education!
Her book is on Amazon RIGHT NOW so grab a copy! Search 'Protector of the Ocean' https://www.amazon.com/dp/B091WJHF43/ or head to her website at Alyssanicolebooks.com

How to Work in Marine Conservation without a University Degree | Everything Salty Podcast
Most people assume you need a university degree to work in marine conservation but that is NOT the case!
In this second podcast I chat to Ruby Free, one of the most dedicated and passionate young conservationists working to protect our oceans.
At 21, she has already volunteered and worked for tens of projects including working with seals and marine mammals, documenting whale species and running plastic pollution and citizen science cleans.
Ruby is an advocate for people to use volunteering to gain the experience they need to start their careers in marine conservation and we talk about the route Ruby has taken that has now landed her her dream role starting soon on Rathlin Island, Northern Ireland.
It is a real, fun and refreshing conversation - I hope you enjoy it! -

We talk about:
