How do we address or combat White Fragility, White Apathy and White Privilege? (Part1)

How do we address or combat White Fragility, White Apathy and White Privilege? (Part1)

In hight of so much Racial Injustice, we find our selves in spaces where Implicit and Explicit Bias along with Macro and Micro aggressions are at the forefront of Social and Institutional settings. White Fragility, White Apathy and White Privilege has unfortunately have been a conduit to prejudice and discrimination. Much of these learned behaviors and characteristics are mostly overlooked and and not held accountable. These behaviors and characteristics have been imbedded in the very fabric of society and in systems of which continue to perpetuate these inequalities and Injustice, particularly in Black and Brown Communities.

We hope this episode will be some form of help in beginning to have these conversation, especially in White People's Homes! Racism and prejudice is learned behavior that can be unlearned. WE MUST START AT HOME! We must continue to educate ourselves and those in White culture  so that we may combat Racism and eradicate the system that perpetuate these injustices.

Together, as a community with Love, Openness, Forgiveness and Grace, perhaps we will see a day when we are all treated equally. Until then , we, White, Black, and people of color shall do as the late congressman John Lewis said: "Sometime we have to get into some good trouble" (Unquote)... For the greater good of Humanity!

Challenges become triumph and build character. Although I had been afraid of many things, my mother pushed me to face my fears and learn to not run away from my problems. Who knew a couple black eyes and ass whippings would have taught me so much. Thank you mami for teaching me to be strong, vigilant, respectful and a dignified leader.
