Customer Reviews
Exceptional!
Paul is a gifted writer and narrator, I have thoroughly enjoyed Alibi. The work, effort, passion and creativity by the production team is clearly reflected in the final product. The stories are compelling, and importantly manage to strike a key balance in being both sensitive to the victims and hard-hitting, a balance not many hosts are able to capture. I appreciate the subtleties. It allows the audience into the whole and doesn’t fall into an insipid “trauma-tourism” which has become so popular. Thank you for the excellent work. This is investigative journalism executed professionally and narrated beautifully. You should all be proud. I look forward to what comes next.
Brilliantly produced and totally gripping
Africa is not known for podcasts at all, much less well-produced investigative stories. This series changes all that totally. South African author and journalist, Paul McNally, dives deep into rural South Africa and tells an incredible story of some of the most forgotten people on earth. Highly reccommend.
Unnecessarily drawn out
So little actually happens in this podcast, but they have somehow managed to stretch it out over 8 episodes. Furthermore the parts where the host talks to the journalist sounds so awkwardly scripted and not conversational at all. I am very proud to see a half decent true crime podcast come out of South Africa, but needs some improvement.
