We talk about the things King Ælfræd has done in his reign and what their effects were, including military reform and the standardization of pre-Norman English (or Ænglisc).

Not necessarily an episode for history, more of one for literature and poetic appreciation of pre-Norman poetry, including The Wanderer and Cædmon's Hymn.

This is a short episode talking about the Mercian Supremecy, which ended in 825, but is not clear exactly when it started.
