Our podcast titled “Chinese Intervention in the South China Sea” explores the different interactions between the countries within the South China Sea and the expanding influence of China. We hope to engage with crucial themes that surround the region with topics ranging from the politics, to the economy, and to the cultural implications that affect these countries. From taking case studies on countries such as Taiwan and Vietnam, we hope to paint a broader picture and further understand how this increasingly growing world power in China has cemented itself as a hegemonic leader.

In this first episode of Chinese Intervention within the South China Sea we introduce the major actor in China and how their influence has fundamentally shaped the political strategy within in the region. We bring in the distinguished Professor Minxin Pei as he gives his thoughts on the subject and how US-China tensions have created a frightening conflict that has become the central narrative of the South China Sea. Join us as we begin this deep dive into the surrounding region and better understand the increasingly important of the dispute that is unfolding.
