Episode 3 Misconceptions of Jamaican culture and closing statements

Episode 3 Misconceptions of Jamaican culture and closing statements

A common stereotype about Jamaican culture is that we are all black
some Jamaicans are Caucasian, Asian, and European
A misconception of Jamaicans is we will “sound Jamaican”, I am Jamaican, so when I tell them this they always say “you don’t sound Jamaican, the accent isn’t inherited
I want people to know this culture is very welcoming, and due to the community of Jamaican/Jamaicans being diverse, there is no strict religion everyone follows.
So others can learn about this culture, take a trip to the caribbean, its a real place so you can go explore and interact personally with the people and culture.

Episode 2 Conflict in the culture

Episode 2 Conflict in the culture

three main roots of conflict within its culture; security concerns, dysfunctional education, and the ways of living.
unbearable, insufficient money for their basic needs and sometimes no money at all.
    High unemployment and underemployment
education in this culture is also corrupt, the majority of the 35+ age group is illiterate.
The community lives in fear from the poor security on the island.
The conflict of this culture comes mainly between the government/system and the community.
the government/system failed them by using insufficient arrangements with supply and demand in its economy.
parents of present teenagers received the type of education that did not prepare them for the realities of today’s world.
My opinion on this is if their self styled community leader assessed the situation thus “lack of education is the biggest problem of the community” why hasn’t this problem been resolved yet. My opinion on the security concerns is it needs to be fixed if the people live in fear of the people that need to protect them.
