What does it really mean to promote wellness? Why does medicine not make you healthy? How do your daily lifestyle choices affect the overall health of your children and the future generations of your family?

In this podcast episode, Melissa Vogel speaks with Daniel Kennedy about how to live a healthy long life and steps you can start taking today to add healthy years to your life.

Meet Daniel Kennedy

Daniel E. Kennedy is a healthcare executive, counselor, author, and filmmaker. His passion for disease prevention was ignited professionally while working with thousands of cancer patients at Oasis of Hope Hospital, and personally, by witnessing cancer and heart disease-related deaths of his grandmother, uncle, aunt, and father.

His philosophy is simple — it’s not good enough to live a long sick life when there’s the opportunity to live a healthy long life. Through the process of writing and ghostwriting 12 books on cancer and heart health, Daniel honed the skills necessary to create, write, and direct the 8-episode Healthy Long Life documentary series. His relationships with researchers and clinicians, developed over the last three decades, has given him access to the world’s top experts on healthy life expectancy.

Healthy Long Life is a seven-part documentary series, with an eighth bonus episode, that tackles the problem that people are living longer but they are not healthy. The last ten years of life are spent in sickness, pain, and paying crushing medical bills. The good news is that it doesn’t have to be that way. Healthy Long Life features interviews with the world’s top experts, chefs, cancer survivors, and healthy people over the age of 100. The series uncovers longevity and health secrets around the world. The bonus 8th episode with expert comments on how to rise up from coronavirus and COVID-19. The Healthy Long Life documentary series is a global celebration of life, food, ancient healing traditions, dance, and music. It’s a feast for the eyes and food for the brain.

Five episodes are currently available on Prime Video. All eight episodes are available on the Apple TV streaming box in the App section, keywords “Healthy Long Life.”

(Daniel Kennedy)

Health and wellness are not centered only around taking medicine. What is integral to the success and continuity of your wellness is disconnecting from stress, spending time in a fulfilling social environment, nourishing your body with the food it needs, and investing in becoming fit and strong; these elements promote long-term, true health.
