    EP42: Jesse Elder: Self Mastery

    EP42: Jesse Elder: Self Mastery

Jesse Edler is a person who some might call a visionary. His mission is to assist businessmen and women, and especially entrepreneurs, build their growth strategies in ways that are philosophical, spiritual, and "out of the box." Edler is an international life-coach and a teacher with plenty of heart.

In this episode, we will cover:

    Self-Mastery
    Remembering what we already know
    Facing negativity

As Edler says, we arrive knowing our purpose. Our intentions are already in place. He went from having very little to building a 3.2 million dollar business, sold the company, and is now teaching spiritual growth strategies to entrepreneurs.

In our interview, Elder lays out the groundwork of how and why we got here and who we are. He explains that all of us arrive here (planet Earth) with a sense of why we are here. Over time, we get immersed in school, family, church, and clubs, and we take on the qualities of these groups. Therefore, we begin to become what these groups say we are instead of being who we are.

EP39: Justin Brooke: The Man with the "Ad Skills"

EP39: Justin Brooke: The Man with the "Ad Skills"

Justin Brooke isn't afraid to admit it: his life was going nowhere until he discovered the power of the internet. In 2007 he was an intern for Russell Brunson; though it was an unpaid internship, he was able to study Brunson's marketing library and receive what he calls "the education of a lifetime" while he wrote reviews on those marketing courses.

Justin put that education to work. One month, he paid only half of his electric bill. He took the money that would have gone to the electric company and created a $2/day ad campaign. At the end of the month, he had earned $150—enough to pay off the bill and give him the confidence to pursue a career in online marketing.

With his success, it's time to give back. Justin is proof that it's possible to create a real career this way, and he wants to teach others to do it. As the founder of AdSkills.com, he compiled his knowledge into the tools, courses, and tutorials anyone can use to become a media buyer.

    This is his story.

EP38: Ron Lynch: The $4 Billion Dollar DTC Man

EP38: Ron Lynch: The $4 Billion Dollar DTC Man

$4 billion dollars in direct response revenue. You read that right. $4 Billion, with a "B". That is how much Ron Lynch has achieved in DTC sales during his career and has truly earned the title of "The Marketing Mercenary".  Starting out as a humble grocery clerk, Ron found his way onto a movie set one day while in college. After obtaining his SAG card, he acted a little in the films but focused mainly on learning how the production process goes.

Working with the stars of the time, one of which was Jeff Bridges, Ron couldn't help but ask him how he could get in Bridges' shoes. The advice he received: "Write. If you can write, you can make movies." In other words, even though Ron hated writing, the lesson was to do the work first. So, he wrote. In quick time, he wrote two movies as he returned to work as a grocery clerk. In an interesting coincidence, one of the customers who came through his checkout line was the key to getting those two movies in front of people who could help him advance in the movie industry.

But, it wasn't solely the act of writing screenplays in his free time that gained Ron his notoriety. His time spent working his way up the ladder in the grocery store taught him valuable lessons in running a business and marketing. By combining the two professions, it taught him valuable key lessons that he has applied in groundbreaking ways to marketing which he shares with us today.

EP37: Nick Shackelford: Media Buyers Guide to eCommerce

My guest in this episode is the epic Facebook marketer and six-figure account manager, Nick Shackelford. As many stories go, he didn't start out in marketing. He thought he would find his rhythm after achieving the status of a professional soccer player at the age of 25. He soon found out, though, that it was not his passion and after a chance encounter with a Pepsi marketing rep, he was introduced to a whole new world. Nick now has the experience of managing more than 165 brand accounts throughout his career and he knows how to take a brand from chump to hero.
