Self Love; How do we do it & Why it matters with Elle Mace WomenKind Collective

    • Self-Improvement

Today we learn about self-love with our guest, Elle Mace. Elle is a Leadership and Management coach and mentor, she’s also a Master Practitioner in eating disorders, obesity and body dysmorphia, a nutrition and weight management therapist as well as a life and positive psychology coach.Elle says that she has, ‘always been passionate about health and fitness,’ however, for years she struggled with an unhealthy relationship with food which began when she was 10 years old.Elle has learned to free herself from what she calls her ‘food demons’ and fall back in love with her body and today is passionate about spreading the word to women, men and children that there is another way.Elle joins us today to tell us about her own experience and give us some advice about self love or even self like, even if it feels an impossible task. She gives us some simple self care tips to aid us with our relationship with ourselves, and we learn why it is important. We talk about societal norms for dieting and ask when does the diet cross over into ‘disordered eating’? In the Book Collective we are reading Caitlin Moran’s What About Men? This week we discuss chapters 3 and 4, the negative body images that have become societal norms and why men should stop wearing scrotum squashing jeans. Jinty has some great news for menopausal women if the UK government need extra troops and Lou tells us how best to wash your knickers/pants/under crackers. In the WI we continue with the Action For Happiness WI calendar. It’s another episode brimming with chat, your comments, and all the usual sweary shenanigans! So, settle in for this hour(ish) podcast full of meaningful chat. If you’ve enjoyed our Podcast you may like to consider buying us a Ko-Fi at  https://ko-fi.com/womenkindcollectivepodcastHere you can find updates, photos and some inclusive content we won’t post anywhere else and your donation will help us ensure we continue to bring you great quality of content and sound. Our campaign for a Menopause Clinic in Devon is moving closer but we still need signatures on our petition: https://www.change.org/p/wheresmyclinicOr to send your testimonials please email us: menopauseclinicdc@gmail.comAnd finally, if you would like the templates to send to your MP or CCG please visit our website: https://menopauseclinicfordevon.co.uk Action for Happiness Calendar: https://actionforhappiness.org/calendar#download-block-anchor Elle Mace:W: https://www.ellemace.com/I: @iamellemaceF: Elle MaceL: Elle MaceYou can watch the full unedited interview on our YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCFgmHLcdx28eco-XlkWYwUABeat website for support with disordered eating https://www.beateatingdisorders.org.uk/get-information-and-support/ --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/womenkindcollectivepodcast/message
