SoNA Reaction: The Economic Perspective

JGF Amplified

Part three and the final instalment of the SoNA Reaction series is a conversation we all need to hear. In this episode, Mathabo Tlali is joined by Martin Gustafsson, an education economist and associate professor attached to the Research on Socio-Economic Policy (ReSEP), linked to the Department of Economics at Stellenbosch University. Martin gives us a glimpse into the economic perspective of #SONA2023. He helps us understand the education budget, how it is allocated and how each province plays a critical role in ensuring the allocated resources are used accordingly. He also shares his experience in the field and why he believes education is important and why investing in teachers is so critical.
