    We are ending our inaugural season with a special 15-minute episode, featuring the young and vibrant Kfm94.5 Presenter, Mitch Matyana. Mitch's story is one of perseverance and learning and he has some really interesting advice to share with you on how to prepare for your life after school.

    The entire Joy of Media Team would like to thank you for following us for the first season of our podcast, it has been so much fun and an incredible experience covering 10 unique and really motivational stories.

    The Joy of Media Podcast has been live for 3 months and the response that we have gotten has already been incredible. We have already covered 8 incredible stories, featuring young achievers and successful innovators, entrepreneurs and media heavyweights. There has been no shortage of inspiration and motivation in our weekly interview based episodes, released every Friday at 6PM.

    For the second last episode of the season, the incredible stories continue with the story of Faine Pearl Loubser. Faine is an established content creator and social media influencer from Cape Town. A brilliant photographer and videographer, she has over 20 thousand followers on Instagram, and has posted almost 600 images. Faine describes herself as a conservationist, film-maker and free-diver. She enjoys time exploring the depths of the oceans around the Western Cape, discovering the natural beauty that lies just off the coast, and she has been working on ways to make sure it stays that way.

    In the ninth episode of season one, of the Joy of Media Podcast, Alex talks to Faine about how she got into content creation, what it is like to be a brand ambassador for GoPro and other companies, and what her involvement is with the ocean conservation brand, www.seachangeproject.com.

    Faine has been involved in many incredible projects and has a passion for content and its creation. She shares inspiration and motivation that can be taken by anyone who wants to get involved in this field. The world is moving away from simply consuming one single media source and the need for content creation has never been greater.

    In this very special episode the Joy of Media Podcast team got to be at the inaugural Africa Tech Week Conference. At the conference we got to hear talks by incredible people from around Africa and the world, sharing stories and ideas about technology and entrepreneurship that were absolutely incredible.

    The host and moderator was Bobby Brown, who we interviewed for this interview. He discusses a bit about the conference, but more importantly gets into the role that the youth are going to be playing in South Africa, and moreover Africa, in areas of technology and entrepreneurship.

    We also included a couple snippets from the keynote speech by Salim Ismail, a truly inspirational speaker and innovator. Overall the event was incredible and in this episode of the Joy of Media Podcast, Alex unpacks the key ideas that we felt really ring true in terms of the youth!

    Joy of Media - Africa Tech Week (S1E7)

    This week's episode is shorter than usual! This is because we don't have an interview, rather an introduction (or build up), to our Africa Tech Week coverage coming out next week.

    Africa Tech Week is set to become the largest event of its kind in Africa and features an expo, world renowned speakers and an awards element. We'll be bringing you some of the coolest and most interesting opinions and advice from leading entrepreneurs and innovators from around the world.

    We hope that this will inspire young entrepreneurs and innovative thinkers to come up with new ideas and plans for their projects! In the seventh episode of the podcast, Alex discusses how excited he is for the expo, and what the Joy of Media Podcast plans to achieve there.

    Joy of Media - Skye Meaker and Wildlife Photography (S1E5)

    We're halfway through the season! In the fifth episode of the Joy of Media Podcast, Alex chats to Skye Meaker, a 17-year-old wildlife photographer from South Africa, who was named Young Wildlife Photographer of the Year in 2018, for the U17 category. The competition features entries from all around the world and Skye's achievement lead to him being a speaker at the recent World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, where he presented alongside Dr Jane Goodall (one of his idols). He also got to chat to Sir David Attenborough.

    Skye's photographic journey has taken him all over Africa and other parts of the world to tell nature's stories through his lens. As Skye says, "he brings the wonder of nature to the people."
