President Biden is a day away from what could be the biggest foreign policy test of his presidency so far, a face-to-face meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Switzerland. CBS News met with Ukraine's president, Volodymyr Zelensky, to get rare access to Russia's undeclared war against Ukraine. Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee are launching an investigation to find out how the Trump administration's Justice Department used secret court orders to obtain digital records of journalists and Democratic lawmakers from Apple. California was one of the first states to shut down more than a year ago, and it's one of the last states to lift those restrictions. In another sign of America returning to normal, CBS's "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" brought back its live audience last night.

President Biden says the U.S. is "back in the business of leading the world" at the NATO Summit in Brussels. The Trump administration's clandestine search for information from Apple reportedly reached inside the White House. Since Friday, at least 139 people have been killed by gun violence across America. The dangerous "Delta" variant, first found in India, is now causing trouble in China. Novavax says its two-dose vaccine is about 90% effective and is safe, after being tested in nearly 30,000 trial participants. CBS News spoke with Pfizer's CEO and chairman, Albert Bourla, about the challenges ahead.

The leaders are in Cornwall for the meeting of the world's seven wealthiest democracies, which starts today. The CDC will hold an emergency meeting of advisers next week to discuss the possibility of a new and extremely rare side-effect of COVID vaccines for young people. The latest in a series of revelations about the Justice Department under former President Trump. Ten senators say they've worked out a plan to improve America's infrastructure, but we don't know if their colleagues will vote for it. The head of the FBI says "there's a lot more to come" from the investigation of the assault on the Capitol, and he expects "maybe more serious charges" against people involved in the January 6th attack. The Great Salt Lake is expected to reach its lowest point in modern history this year.
