#MUSiPOLiTiX EPiSODE #30 hosts Dan Spiffy Neuman & Michael Bland, guest Christone "Kingfish" Ingram #MUSiPOLiTiX

    • Society & Culture

Christone "KINGFISH" Ingram is one of the brightest stars of old school music today. You may have seen videos of him gone viral as a barely teenage guitar prodigy. You may have seen him on the cover of Rolling Stone dubbed as the future of the blues. You may have seen him in the Marvel series Luke Cage. And on July 27th 2021 you'll see him on MUSiPOLiTiX!

Dan & Michael are fans of Kingfish and Kingfish is a fan of Michael and Sonny, so we'll have a lot of music to talk about, as well as the experiences of being a young musician charged with and inspired to carry on one of the oldest Black American art forms. Expect to hear a lot of great stories!

Co-host Dan Spiffy Neuman is a guitarist, organist, minister, and musical director from Madison WI. Dan was raised and mentored by activists and civil rights leaders, and does not know how to shut up about the issues he cares about.

Co-host Michael Bland was Prince's drummer from 1989 on (perhaps best known for the iconic Diamonds and Pearls drum solo) and has been a member of Soul Asylum for 15 years. He toured or did session work with Chaka Khan, Maxwell, the Jonas Brothers/Nick Jonas, Mandy Moore, Demi Lovato, George Benson, and many many others. He is also a loud voice for social and political issues in Minneapolis.
