TNTC+ // The Shoeshine Boy Murder - Emanuel Jaques
On July 28th, 1977, 12-year-old Emanuel Jaques, his brother Luciano, and best friend Shane, were shining shoes on the corners of Yonge and Dudas Streets in Toronto, Ontario to help their families financially. A stranger approached the boys with an offer to help move some photographic equipment for $35/hr. Luciano and Shane went to call their parents for permission but when they returned, Emanuel Jaques and the stranger were no where to be found.
The details that would emerge about the horrors that Emanuel had to endure shook Torontonians to their core and led to permanent change in their city.
