How NIL Real Estate is Empowering Athletes Beyond Graduation
NIL Real Estate piloted a program with BYU in 2022 that
allowed athletes access to the necessary education to buy a home, invest in real estate or pursue a career in real estate. Interested students can take advantage of on-demand courses and test prep if they want to pursue their real estate license. To date, more than 650 students at more than 180 schools have opted into the program. Seventeen athletes are already working full-time in real estate, and another eight have their referral license. Gary Veron, associate athletics director for student-athlete experience/NIL at BYU, and Carl Spencer, co-founder and CEO, NIL Real Estate, joined host Kristi Dosh, founder of Business of College Sports, to discuss in more detail how this program works, including some great stories of athletes who've taken advantage of it. -
Engaging Corporate Partners Through NIL
Corporate partners, on both the national and local level, are increasingly engaging in multifaceted campaigns that include the use of athlete NIL. Solly Fulp, executive vice president of NIL growth and development at LEARFIELD, and Shane Hinckley, chief business development officer at Texas A&M University, joined host Kristi Dosh, founder of Business of College Sports, to discuss some of the best integrations in this space. The trio delved into opportunities outside of the Power Five, how to educate brands who aren't ready to dive in, some notable deals, and what brands are doing right and wrong.

Questions that Must be Answered Before Student-Athletes Can Become Employees
Following the NLRB's initial ruling in that Dartmouth men's basketball athletes are employees, and their subsequent vote to unionize, attorneys Ksenia Maiorova and John Mazzeo joined host (and attorney) Kristi Dosh to discuss questions that need to be addressed before student-athletes can become employees. The discussion includes an in-depth look at the implications for international student-athletes and also thoughts on how athletics departments can start preparing now for the myriad of new issues they'll face if student-athletes are compensated as employees.
