ARM: Հայաստանի հարևան Իրանում ապրող հայկական համայնքը դարերի պատմություն ունի: Տեղում հայերը սեփական դպրոց, եկեղեցի ու նույնիսկ միայն հայ բնակիչներ ունեցող գյուղատեղիներ են ունեցել ու մինչ օրս էլ պահպանում են: 1979թ. ENG: The Armenian community living in Armenia's neighbouring country Iran has a history of centuries. Armenians there have their own schools, churches and even a village inhabited only by Armenians. In 1979, the Islamic revolution was happened in Iran after which a significant number of Armenians emigrated from the country, most of whom moved to their homeland ― Armenia. During the 7th episode of Podcastaméh we are talking with Hranush Tahmazyan, an Iranian Armenian who moved to Armenia during 1980s when the Soviet Union was still alive.

ARM: «Մուսուլմանները պատերազմում են, որովհետև Իսլամում այդպես է գրված: Նրանք «հավատի համար պատերազմ» կամ «ջիհադ» են անում անհավատների դեմ». այսպես են հիմնականում ոչ մուսուլմանական երկրներում ընկալում իսլամական «ջիհադ» երևույթի էությունը: Սա է պատճառը, որ Ջիհադը շատ հաճախ նույնացվում է ահաբեկչության հետ, իսկ մուսուլման ծայրահեղական ահաբեկիչները կոչվում են «ջիհադիստներ»: Այս էպիզոդում արաբագետ Շուշան Կյուրեղյանի հետ փորձել ենք բացատրել, որ Ջիհադն Իսլամում իրականում ավելի մեծ հասկացություն է, որում ռազմական բաղադրիչը շատ ավելի փոքր մաս է:  

ENG: "Muslims are fighting because it is how written in Islam. They fight against non-believers for faith or they do "Jihad" against them". This is how many in non-Muslim countries perceive the meaning of Islamic Jihad. For this reason the terms "Jihad" and "Terrorism" are often conflated, and violent Muslim radicals are called "Jihadists". During this episode together with Arabist Shoushan Kyureghyan we tried to explain that jihad in Islam is actually a bigger concept, in which the military component is much smaller.

ARM: Մերձավոր արևելքում, հատկապես Պարսից ծոցի արաբական երկրներում, միգրանտ աշխատողները մեծ թիվ են կազմում: Որոշ երկրներում նույնիսկ բնակչության մոտ 40%-ը միգրանտ աշխատողներ են, օրինակ, Հնդկաստանից, Բանգլադեշից կամ Ֆիլիպիններից: Մերձավոր արևելյան երկրների բնակիչները ևս մեկնում են արտագնա աշխատանքի, սակայն նրանց հիմնական ուղղությունները Եվրոպան կամ Ամերիկան են: Այս էպիզոդում խոսում ենք խոպանի մշակույթի մասին:   

EN: There are large numbers of migrant workers from India, Bangladesh, Philippines and other countries in the Middle East, especially in the Arab countries of Gulf. In some countries migrant workers make up 40% of the population. People from the Middle Eastern countries also become migrant workers, but their main directions are Europe or the USA. During this episode we are talking about labour migration in the Middle East.

ARM: 19-րդ դարի սկզբին տեղի ունեցած երկու ռուս-պարսկական պատերազմների արդյունքում Իրանը կորցրեց իր տիրապետության տակ գտնվող Կովկասը, այդ թվում՝ Հայաստանն ու Ադրբեջանը: Երկու պատերազմից առաջինն ավարտվեց Գյուլիստանի պայմանագրով, երկրորդը՝ Թուրքմենչայի: Վերջինը, բացի նրանից, որ հավելյալ կորուստներ պատճառեց Իրանին, ևս մեկ անգամ ամրագրեց նաև Գյուլիստանի պայմանները: Սա է պատճառը, որ այսօր Իրանում Թուրքմենչայի պայմանագիրն ամոթալի են համարում, իսկ Կովկասն՝ իրենց պատմական հողերը, որոնց կորուստն Իրանի համար ցավալի է:  

EN: As a result of the two Russo-Persian wars that took place at the beginning of 19th century, Iran lost the Caucasus, including Armenia and Azerbaijan. The first of the two wars ended with the Treaty of Gyulistan, the second with the Treaty of Turkmenchay. The latter, in addition to causing additional losses to Iran, once again strengthened the conditions of Gyulistan. This is why today Iran considers the Treaty of Turkmenchay a disgrace, and the Caucasus its historical lands, the loss of which is regretful for Iran.
