DTVC Extra 27, The Star Trek Franchise, "Star Trek III: The Search for Spock" and "Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home‪"‬ DTVC Podcast

    • Film Reviews

"DTVC Extra" are shorter solo episodes that I'll be posting on some weeks in addition to the main podcast. In this episode we're continuing our look at the Star Trek original cast franchise with "Star Trek III: The Search for Spock" and "Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home." With the first film, I open with a short history of the blockbuster at that time, starting with "Jaws" in '75, and how Star Trek fit into that. I also get into the idea that the odd-numbered films are bad and the even-numbered ones good, and whether or not that holds up with part III. With the second film, I talk about how it wasn't originally one of my favorites, but how this viewing I really enjoyed it; I also look at how "End Game" follows some of its premise, and chat a little bit about the Challenger explosion that happened the same year this film was released.

My newest novel, Don's House in the Mountains, is available here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CN9B811D

Check out Bainbridge, my short action novel about a cop on the edge in early 90s LA: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CH7V3SK5
